Rosita will be presenting her "Reflections of Pauli Murray" presentation during St. Thomas' Parish Church's annual Black History Prayer Breakfast. Pauli's niece is thrilled to join this program with Bishop Eugene Sutton who as one of his last official duties before retiring as the Bishop of Maryland, officiated when Rosita reaffirmed her faith as an adult at St. James Episcopal Church in Baltimore on April 21, 2024. St. James is the oldest African American Episcopal congregation south of the Mason Dixon Line. The church has been a cornerstone of the city's Black culture and society for more than 200 years. St. James is the same church where Aunt Pauli was baptized in 1911.
This year's celebration at St. Thomas honors the life and legacy of Aunt Pauli and the spirit of fellowship that brought all the prayer breakfast attendees together on that occasion.
